PICKit 3.5 Debug is available for 8-bit and 16-bit PIC microcontrollers (MCUs) and dsPIC digital signal controllers (DSCs), with support for 32-bit PIC MCUs at a later date.
In future releases of MPLAB IDE, support for new PIC MCUs and DSCs, as well as PIC32 MCUs, will also be provided via free firmware upgrades.

Using the free MPLAB integrated development environment, this PICKit 3.5 Debug makes exploring the world of embedded control easier and faster to learn.
Connected to and powered by the USB of any PC, this plug-and-play kit enables in-circuit debugging functions such as pause, single-step, data or address breakpoints.
Additionally, PICKit 3.5 probes are compatible with the PICKit 2 Demo Kit because the 6-pin ICSP connector is similar to the one on the PICKit 2 Debug.
Also compatible with Microchip's MPLAB ICD 2 and MPLAB ICD 3 using an RJ-11 to ICSP adapter (Part No. AC164110).

PICKit 3.5 is the latest low-end in-circuit debugger launched by MICROCHIP to promote the promotion of PIC32, supporting PIC MCU and DSC from 8-bit to 32-bit.
It works on the MPLAB IDE development platform. The PICKit 3.5 programmer's operating system (firmware) can be easily upgraded free of charge via the programming software. Added support for new PIC MCUs and DSCs and PIC32 MCUs via firmware upgrade.
Starting from MPLAB IDE V8.40, offline download is gradually supported, and its performance is better than ICD2 and PICKit 2.

The PICKit 3.5 connects to a PC via a USB 2.0 full-speed interface for faster programming and firmware upgrades without the need for additional power to the programmer or target board.
PICKit 3.5 is connected to the target board through the standard ICSP interface, and the interface is compatible with PICKit 2, ICD2, ICD3 and other development tools. In addition to the debugger function, PICKit 3.5 can also be used as a development programmer.
